Ariel Huisman of Caring Sole Reflexology

Caring Sole Reflexology is a private practice run by Ariel Huisman, a certified foot and hand reflexologist in the North Raleigh area. The relaxing and peaceful environment she creates for clients is a representation of her personality as well. Ariel was kind and attentive to me as I received services from her. She listened as she took an intake on my recurring ailments and focused on a general protocol for someone with general complaints who hoped to gain the most from a comprehensive session. Not only was the experience relaxing, but it enabled my muscles, glands, and organs to respond to the reflexes she created on my hands and feet. This is a main theme of reflexology. It does much more than create the feeling of a foot massage, which is a temporary bonus.
Ariel is certified by both the International Institute of Reflexology (IIR) and American Reflexology Certification Board (ARCB). She is clear to her clients that her services serve as complementary to other medical treatment. She does not attempt to nor is she trained to treat medical conditions, but her services can alleviate tension and stress in the body. They can also support nerve function and aid in lymph drainage.
During and after my session with Ariel, I noticed that the release of toxins achieved by the cleansing properties of reflexology did create a few side effects. Mainly, I felt more relaxed, but I also felt a sense of short-term exhaustion. Any other side effects people feel as a result of their experience are usually not related directly to the reflexology but more how the body responds and its condition before the treatment. I saw my reaction as a sign that my body needed to relax and detoxify.
I felt that reflexology was one more way for my body to latch onto its natural healing abilities. Sometimes a person with a chronic (or even acute) ailment may feel that his or her body is no longer capable of healing. By gently stimulating reflexes in the hands and feet that correlate to aspects of my body parts that have probably been underused, I benefited a great deal. While reflexology seems like a new invention in a time focused on health, the traditions and elements of using reflexes for tension reduction and body stimulation actually date back thousands of years to ancient civilizations. My hope is all can reap some benefit by trying reflexology. You leave feeling revitalized on the outside, but your insides are thanking you as well! I would highly recommend Ariel.
