Through compassionate self observation and the interested attention of the counselor, bodycenteringyoga has proven highly effective for depression, anxiety, weight loss, and relationship issues for hundreds of clients.

Nina Be has been teaching and mentoring the movement arts, internationally, for over 35 years. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor and Yoga Therapist, with an MA in Performing Arts from American University, and a M.Ed. in Counseling from the University of New Orleans.
Upon completing her apprenticeship with the Joffrey Ballet Company, and her work for the American Dancemachine in New York and Japan, Nina created Body Centering, a therapeutic movement technique. Incorporating concepts studied with master teachers in the Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Kendo, Ikebuo, Bhutto, Ballet, Modern and Jazz, Body Centering aids professionals and others in theatre, opera, sports and medicine. She has created Body Centering programs for corporations, hospitals and spas, along with conducting international workshops.
In 1979 Nina began studying Buddhism and meditation. She has been highly influenced by practicing with Mary Orr, Pema Chodren, Eckhart Tolle and the Dali Lama and several Tibetan rimpoches.
In 1986, Nina began studying Hatha Yoga with various master teachers of Iyengar, Bhakti, and Kundalini.
In 2000, she had the privilege of beginning her studies of Ashtanga Yoga under Melanie Fawer, one of a handful of women certified by Pattabhi Jois to teach Ashtanga Yoga.
In 2004, after attaining her M.Ed. in Counseling, Nina Be was able to incorporate various modalities of mental health wellness in helping groups and individuals. Body Centering effectively empowered clients suffering from abuse, diabetes, chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, sciatica, addiction, and relationship issues.
In 2006, after evacuating from New Orleans in the wake of Katrina, Nina Be created a charity business ethic where 10% of her income goes to charity. After having mentored and taught over 1,000 hours of yoga , Nina is currently attaining her E- RYT-500 certification with BMC master teacher, Lisa Clark.
Nina Be lives in Raleigh NC., and is the mother of 2 thriving teenagers. Nina shares her yoga therapy work at THE BODY CENTER, Moving Mantra, Werness Wellness, Burt's Bees and Raleigh Correctional Center for Women.
